Setting:
1. Debrecen „Ady Endre”- High School, Hungary
- 14-16 years old adolescents seperated into 3 groups
- parents seperated into 2 groups
- School info day
2. Budapest Medical office (Paediatric Office for 0-18 years old children), 1025 Budapest Csatárka u. 51. Hungary
Description of intervention:
- 29 participants aged between 14-16 years
- 29 parents participated in the interventions in three groups
Main Obstacles:
- Organising parents from school to attend the intervention
- Manage adolescents during the interventions
Suggestions for improvement:
- Provide information to school paediatricians personally, or through E-mails
- Provide information to school nurses by E-mails, personally and by leaflets
- Provide more information to teachers of different high schools
- Collaborate school nurses and doctors and parents who have already agreed to take part in the intervention to inform other parents to attend the intervention use also printed material such as leaflets
- Upload information on school Websites
- Use social media (facebook) to disseminate information about the intervention
- Use posters and leaflets at schools
- A medical center is an appropriate setting to recruit espefially parents as the medical group can help with appropriate information and with the dissemination of by leaflets and other material
Lessons learned:
- Recruitment of parents can be facilitated through the use of:
- A Health care team (school or other medical office) that can promote the participation of parents in interventions
- Information on Website of high schools for parents on intervention is effective
- Posters about the itervention at schools, e-mails to parents are also effective
- Using teachers for the organisation of the intervention is less effective
- Well trained psycologists are needed in oder to manage the difficulties arising from working with adolescents‘ group
